The Influence of Magazines: Who Knew

January 2008:
On the cover of Blender magazine Britney Spear's head is place on a model's body. The magazine cover states her image is a FAKE photo. Britney did not pose for this cover.

Magazines was this weeks topic in our class lecture, which turnout to be very interesting. This type of media has been around for hundreds of years. In the early days of magazines, magazines was only available to the literate and the one's who could afford them, but over the years this has slowly change. Today magazine influences everyone and everything. The influence of magazines is evident, but what's interesting is how the magazine industries uses its sources to manipulate its audiences. For example magazines uses digital fakery to influence and manipulate it audiences, especially the younger ones. This type trickery includes altering photos of celebrity, making them look flawless. This type fakery could lead to serious behavior, which could have a long time effect on adolescence. So the influence of the media is all round us, but we need to educate to make better chocies.

magazines have changed over time to cater to the growing curiosity of the children. Earlier these magazines talked about the favorite color or the favorite attire of a celebrity but now they publish relationship facts, make-up tips and hair tips to lure the teens into trying these themselves.
