As we all know Republican presidential candidate John McCain came to Durango October 24, 2008. Personally I really wanted to experience the whole event, but my supervisor at work wouldn't give me the time off. So my friend and I went during our lunch time, to see the event. I was surprised with the amount of people rallying for McCain, Obama or neither. This was my first time ever being at an event this big. With the amount of time we had we were limited to only the crowd on the streets, but this is where the action was, I thought. There was supporter for both candidates holding banners, sign, noise maker, etc..... and the spirit of support was present. Didn't make it inside, but it was a great experience. Also in class Sotosky show a footage of an incident that occurred, where a person hit another with their vehicle. Some say the drive was a McCain supporter and the persons that was hit was an Obama supporter. I have heard this was on purpose, but what I think is with an event this big there is going to be a big crowd, so it's the driver's responsibility to be cautious.
